Congratulations to the Monroe Building in Chicago, winner of 2015 local TOBY award for Historic Building. According to the Building Owners and Managers Association of Chicago, “the Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Award is the most prestigious and comprehensive program of its kind in the commercial real estate industry. The TOBY awards recognize excellence in building management, operational efficiency, tenant retention, emergency planning and community impact.” As a local winner in the Historic Building category, the Monroe will advance to compete in the North Central Region TOBY Awards in March. Regional winners advance to the International TOBY Awards competition in May.
The Monroe was the original corporate headquarters for Ludowici Roof Tile. As the original manufacturer of the Spanish tile roof, Ludowici was brought in to participate on the renovation team, which remarkably also included the original architect’s successor and decorative tile manufacturer. The dedicated team worked hard to restore this architectural gem for the city of Chicago.
Good luck to the Monroe Building as it competes in the regional TOBY awards this month!
