This week Ludowici announced the Project of the Year awards for Residential and Commercial Roofing. The awards are given out each year to projects that demonstrate excellence in terra cotta roof design and installation. There were a lot of amazing projects submitted this year and the voting was tight!

Roofing – Residential

2017 Residential Roofing Project of the Year:  Private Residence, Denver, CO

Roofer: Precision Construction & Roofing

Project Details:

• 124 squares of custom Flat Slab terra cotta shingle tile with custom hand slush texture, battered butts and warped canoe valleys and bonnet hips
• Staggered blend of 3 different clay tile sizes: 8″ x 15″ x 1/2″, 16″ x 15″ x 1/2″, 8″ x 13″ x 1/2″
• Color Blend: 60% Custom Color SO/M10/M21 M>H; 30% Custom Color S4/M23, 10% Lava Black

2017 Silver Award for Residential Roofing:  Private Residence, Wyomissing, PA

Roofer: Gillespie Contracting Inc.

Project Details:

• Custom 6 ¼’ x 12 ¾” x 5/8”  terra cotta shingle tile with 12 different groupings of custom surface treatments including 3 distinct methods of hand slushing; left, right and center warping; no warping
• Color Blend: Custom Color M26/M23/NS
